Job summary

Shake Shack in New York, NY is seeking a Restaurant Shift Lead to manage the flow of service, direct a team of hourly members, and support operational functions. You will help build a high performing team and participate in interviews.

Starting hourly rate is $21.00–$25.00, with an extra $2/hour for certain shifts after midnight. We offer weekly pay, performance bonuses, and comprehensive health benefits as part of a supportive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of restaurant leadership experience supervising a team
• Food Safety Certification according to local jurisdiction
• Strong problem solving skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of service and direct the work of team members on a shift to ensure the highest levels of safety, cleanliness, quality, and speed
• Help build and lead high performing team of hourly Team Members
• May assist with operational support functions (i.e. Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, etc.)
• Participates in applicant interviews and assists with employee relations
