Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners in Huntsville, AL is seeking a guest-oriented food and beverage server to provide prompt and courteous service. You will greet guests, take orders, memorize menu items, and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hospitality throughout the dining experience.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, 3–6 months in food/beverage service, TIPs certification, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Three - Six months experience in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks and instructions.
• Must be TIPs certified.
• Must have manual coordination to punch buttons and carry trays.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers and serve them.
• Restock and perform opening/closing side-work as instructed.
• Memorize menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness in restaurant, wait-station, and service areas according to health standards.
• Process guest checks accurately and document order details.
• Receive payment and ensure accuracy of guest checks and payments.
• Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to stay informed.
• Respond to inquiries with timely, knowledgeable information.
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Maintain a friendly, courteous demeanor and handle challenging situations tactfully.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
