Overview

The Restaurant Server is responsible for delivering high-quality service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This includes taking and delivering orders, and processing payments.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous service to all guests, managers, and colleagues.
  2. Familiarize with the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service, and understand each role's function.
  3. Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  4. Service guests' food and beverage requirements courteously and efficiently.
  5. Pre-bus tables, removing soiled dishes after each course.
  6. Operate the POS system effectively.
  7. Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
  8. Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work according to station rotation and checklists.
  9. Keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
  10. Maintain beverage levels at least ¾ full.
  11. Break down trays of soiled dishes and linens in the dishroom as per standards.
  12. Answer phone calls professionally.
  13. Upsell food, beverages, and promotions to guests.
  14. Know the location and usage of fire extinguishers.
  15. Receive and deliver food and beverage orders, and process payments.
  16. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related experience preferred.
  2. Flexibility to work long hours as required.
  3. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 20 pounds frequently.
  4. Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  5. Ability to maneuver while carrying trays of food and beverages.
  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to listen, understand, and clarify guest and employee concerns.
  8. Multitasking and prioritization skills.
  9. Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  10. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  11. Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations.
  12. Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  13. Ability to understand and apply complex information.
  14. Cross-training willingness.
  15. Maintain confidentiality.
  16. Show initiative and anticipate needs.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  18. Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
