Overview

The Restaurant Server provides high-quality service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include receiving and delivering guest orders and processing payments.

Responsibilities
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and colleagues at all times.
  • Understand the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service, and know the roles of each position.
  • Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  • Serve food and beverages attentively and courteously.
  • Pre-bus tables, removing soiled dishes after each course.
  • Operate the POS system proficiently.
  • Handle cashiering duties, including closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures and complete side-work duties as per station rotation and checklists.
  • Keep tables and stations stocked, tidy, and clean.
  • Maintain beverages at least ¾ full.
  • Break down trays of dishes and linens according to standards.
  • Answer phone calls professionally.
  • Upsell food, beverages, and promotions to guests.
  • Know the location and use of fire extinguishers.
  • Receive and deliver orders, and process payments.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout service.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; hospitality experience preferred.
  • Flexible with working long hours as needed.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
  • Stand for entire shifts.
  • Navigate the dining area while carrying full trays.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active listening and ability to clarify concerns.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to safety and hotel standards and regulations.
  • Show initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Cross-train in other hotel areas as needed.
  • Demonstrate a friendly, warm demeanor at all times.
