Job summary

GF Hotels & Resorts seeks a food prep cook to assist the head cook with preparing a variety of foods and stocking stations with ingredients and condiments. You will keep all stations neat, clean, and sanitized and operate kitchen equipment safely.

Read English recipes, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for your entire shift while performing basic cooking tasks. Training is available for the right person, with weekend and holiday hours possible.

Qualifications

• Prefer some kitchen prep experience and an AA or equivalent.
• Read and comprehend recipes, labels and meal charts in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, pull heavy items and stand throughout shift.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, and extended hours if needed.
• Experience prepping food and ability to work under the head chef with minor supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment after closing.
• Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes.
• Assist with simple cooking tasks and support head chef as needed.
• Read recipe measurements and use correct measuring tools.
• Follow food safety and COVID-19 safety guidelines in all areas.

Job description

We’re searching for a food prep cook who will work with our head cook/chef to prep a variety of foods, and stock food stations with ingredients and condiments. You’ll be responsible for keeping all food stations and equipment neat, clean and sanitized. You must read recipe directions in English and operate kitchen equipment, including sharp knives and measuring tools. Expect some lifting, bending, and standing on your feet during your shift, as well as the ability to take on other duties as needed. If you want to gain more cooking experience, this job may be for you! Some experience is preferred, but we will train the right person.

Compensation: $17 - $18 hourly
