Job summary

Black Bear Diner is seeking an Assistant Manager in Kansas to be the right hand to the General Manager, coordinating planning, training and leadership to achieve sales, costs and profitability. You will lead shifts, ensure fast, friendly guest service and high quality food, and hire/train team members with GM approval.

You will help manage front and back of house operations to keep the shift fully staffed. Responsibilities include developing staff, providing coaching, ensuring opening/closing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Experience in restaurant management desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate planning, organizing, training and leadership to achieve sales, costs and profitability objectives.
• Lead shift in absence of GM and ensure guest service and quality standards.
• Interview, hire and train team members with GM approval.
• Develop labor schedules and monitor inventory to control costs.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
