Job summary

Tender Greens in San Diego seeks an Associate General Manager to lead restaurant operations, coaching a diverse team and delivering outstanding guest experiences. You will oversee kitchen and dining room, training, safety, and cost controls while driving performance and hospitality across shifts.

The role requires strong leadership, culinary interest, and a flexible schedule to support busy service windows. Candidates with a Food Safety Manager certification will be preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/ associate degree in hospitality, Restaurant Management, Culinary or equivalent education and work experience
• Minimum 3 years cooking in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, directing, and motivating a team.
• Culinary interest with commitment to continued culinary development.
• Proficient in MS Office, Google Docs
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a positive and outgoing personality
• Customer service focused and solution oriented.
• Capable of delegating multiple tasks
• Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced and high stress work environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
• Ongoing current Food Safety Manager certification

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all restaurant team members to ensure quality guest experience.
• Oversee kitchen and dining room operations and safety standards.
• Manage cost controls, inventory, and supplier relations.
• Conduct training and coaching of staff; participate in weekly management meetings.
• Ensure safety and compliance with food safety standards.
• Lead and direct opening and closing procedures and station operations.
• Ensure labor costs are controlled and shifts run efficiently.
