Job summary

Happy Camper in Chicago is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will hire and train staff, coordinate with HR, manage schedules, handle guest issues, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring and training staff.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction, resolve conflicts and complaints as they arise.
  • Contribute to the positive company culture and continue to cultivate regulars.
  • Communicate with HR and accounting regarding invoicing and payroll.
  • Double‑check all orders that come in.
  • Understand the food menu and table numbers.
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit.
  • Issue refunds and price adjustments.
  • Proficiency in Toast POS and OpenTable.
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills.
  • Customer satisfaction‑oriented.
  • Manage menus in‑house and through delivery (Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub).
  • Manage and oversee HotSchedules scheduling, adjusting schedules on the fly when needed.
  • Handle disciplining and terminating employees in accordance with restaurant policy.
  • Perform daily health inspections and oversee food handling.
  • Conduct frequent quality‑control checks on food.
  • Ensure compliance with capacity and liquor regulations.
  • Manage liquor, beer and wine inventory and work with BOH for purchases of food and supplies.
  • Manage swag inventory and communicate order needs with brand manager.
  • Conduct daily checks of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling and hygiene standards.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and service on equipment, call in repairs when needed.
  • Takes ownership on tasks and sees them through from start to finish.

Position Opening: Restaurant Manager
Position Overview

The FOH manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the restaurant, and take on additional duties as assigned. Hours vary between 9:00 am and 4:00 am, Monday to Sunday, with additional hours as needed. Our ideal candidate is someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, is a self‑starter, and wants to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic, fast‑paced hospitality company.   • Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish

Compensation Details

Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 Annual Salary
Eligible for bonuses based on performance and sales metrics
