Job Summary

The Restaurant Manager will work alongside and directly support the General Manager with responsibility for team leadership and development, beverage/food functions, guest and employee satisfaction, private and hosted events, and revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills are also required as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including, but not limited to Word, Outlook, and Excel. Due to the fast-paced nature of the business, the ability to multi-task and work under pressure while still being detail oriented is imperative.

Job Summary

Essential Job Functions; include but not limited to:

  • Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, and knowledge of operations
  • Experience working in food and beverage-centric concept, high volume but intimate atmosphere ideal
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience working with VIP and regular clientele
  • Ability to multi-task and perform calmly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, efficient, reliable, personable
  • Experience in training and mentoring of staff
  • Knowledge of inventory management and previous scheduling experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with management, executive team, and employees
  • A strong working knowledge of POS systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and maintain physical and mental stamina while dealing effectively with guests, management, and team members
  • Ability to collaborate with others, accept direction, and practice excellent time management skills
  • Ability to address challenging situations with clients and team members with the utmost tact and professionalism
  • Responsible for the successful achievement of all financial, quality and service goals for the organization along with the General Manager
  • Assist in the determination of procedural infractions by team members and issue appropriate level of discipline.
  • Must possess effective communication skills for dealing with diverse staff
  • All other job duties assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software, like R365, Aloha, Toast
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Acute financial management skills, accounting
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Able to work flexible hours necessary including off hours, weekends and holidays in a 24-hour location
  • Must possess effective communication skills for dealing with diverse staff

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. In some instances, the entire shift
  • Intermittent periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
  • Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F
  • Regularly required to handle hot food and beverages.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge
  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Floor Manager, Hospitality Manager or in a similar role
  • 3-5 years of food and beverage service industry experience required
