Description

The Iconic Sanderling Resort is currently hiring for Restaurant Manager. We are looking for that leader who is passionate in providing service to others. A people person who believes that the best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.

This position is a critical part of our management team is responsible for setting the example of cooperation and teamwork by providing leadership and guidance to the Life Saving Station Restaurant team as well as our other outlets. You will work with the staff to ensure guest satisfaction and optimum performance by having a can-do attitude and will jump in where assistance is needed. This role has various weekday & weeknight shifts with a required PM Sunday and Monday shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest services

  • Maintains a commitment of excellence to customer service and satisfaction, exceeding guest expectations throughout their restaurant and hotel experience.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a professional, attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Work quickly and independently in handling guest inquiries or to resolve operational and/or guest concerns, ensuring follow through with appropriate manager(s)

Food and Beverage Department

  • Ensures supplies are properly stocked; communicating with the Restaurant General Manager shortages and assists with ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Assists with preparing and monitoring budget of expenditures and projected incomes.
  • Assist in maintaining food and beverage costs by monitoring inventory and coordinating inventory control
  • Assist the Restaurant General Manager in wage productivity reports; utilize management tools to control labor cost.
  • Manage and monitor product quality and service scores and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly.
  • Ensures proper bookkeeping and hotel policies are followed.
  • Responsible for daily reports and manager log book entries.
  • Assist in monthly food and beverage inventories and reconciliations.
  • Attends mandatory weekly management meetings and participates in agendas.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper dress code and name tag when working.
  • Be familiar with the organization of Pyramid Global Hospitality Hotels and know the function of each department.

Staffing

  • Supervise, support, assign daily work, inform and train team members in all restaurant activities and operations
  • Assist in preparation of staff schedules according to business forecast maintaining adherence to wage control productivity standards and guest service scores.
  • Monitor, observe and staff performance.
  • Ensure employees are at all time’s attentive friendly helpful and courteous to guest’s, employees and other managers.
  • Maintain close communication links with all employees seeking input regarding food and beverage issues and acting as a motivating influence.
  • Set the example of Pyramid 'People First' Culture
  • Ensure all opening and closing side work is completed accurately on a daily basis by servers/bartenders.
  • Monitor and follow up on all servers' cash overages and shortages.
  • Follow company procedures and maintain proper consistent disciplinary actions, with documentation, for all Food and Beverage employees.

Safety

  • Observe Health Department guidelines for food handling and sanitation so that guests and employees will not be in risk of cross-contamination, keeping compartment sinks, side boards, and refrigerators clean and sanitized.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions and following up with any other appropriate management personnel
  • Ensure all employees are in compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards and state and local requirements.
  • Reports any needed repairs immediately to Engineering using correct procedures
  • Be familiar with and able to react to emergency situations by knowing locations of fire and extinguishers and exits

Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of prior restaurant experience in a supervisory role in fine dining.
  • MUST be able to work Sunday and Monday PM, with flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as hotel events and management schedules require remaining days.
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, both written and oral, in fluent English with ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Maintain professionalism, composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
  • TABC and Food Safety Training certification or become certified within first 10 days of employment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, up to entire shift; walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Able to extending arms; frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending and stooping and ability to carry and/or lift up to 50.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
