Job summary

Groot Hospitality is seeking a restaurant handyman to maintain high-quality facilities and support a vibrant dining environment. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and safety checks to ensure a welcoming guest experience.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs, carpentry, painting, and coordinating with staff and contractors. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of proven maintenance experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect restaurant premises to identify maintenance needs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Repair and troubleshoot equipment, fixtures, and facilities (kitchen appliances, lighting, doors, windows, furniture).
• Perform carpentry like framing, shelving, furniture repair; paint walls and ceilings.
• Maintain fire safety equipment, emergency exits, and alarms and ensure safety compliance.
• Service restaurant equipment (refrigeration, ovens, grills, dishwashers) for longevity and performance.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests to minimize disruption.
• Coordinate with staff and contractors for larger maintenance projects or renovations.
• Keep detailed records and report maintenance status and improvements to management.
• Adhere to safety protocols, scheduling guidelines, and quality standards.
