Job summary

Groot Hospitality is seeking a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities safe, functional, and inviting. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs to kitchen, dining, and support areas, coordinating with management to address issues promptly.

Responsibilities include inspections of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, servicing equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Proficiency with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand/kneel for extended periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail."
• Excellent communication with staff, management, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of restaurant premises to identify maintenance needs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Perform repairs and troubleshooting on equipment, fixtures, and facilities (kitchen appliances, lighting, doors, windows, furniture).
• Undertake carpentry tasks (framing, installing shelves, furniture repair) and painting to maintain appearance.
• Ensure safety compliance by inspecting extinguishers, exits, alarms, and other safety gear.
• Maintain and service restaurant equipment (refrigeration, ovens, grills, dishwashers).
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and coordinate with suppliers for restocking.
• Respond promptly to emergencies to minimize disruptions to operations.
• Collaborate with staff and contractors on larger maintenance projects.
