Summary of Position

Prepares menu items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Responsible for helping to maintain food costs and kitchen cleanliness at all times. Performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment, as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Position Activities and Tasks

• Prepares cooking items
• Reports to work well-groomed, in a clean and proper uniform, practicing good personal hygiene at all times
• Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen equipment, including preparation and storage areas
• Stocks and rotates products to ensure they are within shelf life standards
• Knows recipes, menu items, and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, and cooking times
• Prepares prep items according to guest requests, following food safety and sanitation procedures
• Controls food costs by ensuring proper portioning and recipe adherence
• Uses FIFO standards during preparation
• Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas
• Follows safety procedures concerning food handling, rotation, and storage
