Job summary

Le Flâneur, the signature French brasserie at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, seeks outgoing Hosts to welcome guests with warmth and personality. You’ll be the first hello, shaping the guest experience from arrival and through seating, working with a collaborative team to keep service seamless.

Ideal candidates are naturally warm, conversation-ready, and able to balance Southern hospitality with organization during peak times.

Qualifications

• Previous guest-facing or hospitality experience preferred.
• Friendly, social, and able to engage with new people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized and able to multitask during busy periods.
• Comfortable with technology; reservation systems a plus.
• Dependable, professional, and positive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and hospitality.
• Create a memorable first impression reflecting Le Flâneur and Recess.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, table assignments, and seating flow.
• Escort guests to tables and ensure comfort and information.
• Answer phones and assist with reservations and requests.
• Coordinate with servers and management to maintain dining room flow.
• Recognize returning guests, VIPs, and special occasions when possible.
• Maintain a guest-ready host stand and entrance.

About the role

Le Flâneur , the signature French brasserie at Recess Hotel & Club , is seeking outgoing, welcoming, and hospitality-minded Hosts to join our team.

Le Flâneur is lively, social, and full of personality — and the experience starts at the door. Our Hosts are more than the people managing the reservation book. They are the first hello, the familiar face, the person who makes guests feel like they have arrived somewhere they want to be.

We are looking for people who are naturally warm, comfortable starting conversations, and genuinely enjoy making others feel welcome. You should be able to bring Southern hospitality without feeling scripted, keep your energy up during a busy service, and balance personality with organization when the restaurant gets moving.

What you'll do

• Welcome every guest with warmth, personality, and genuine hospitality
• Create a fun and memorable first impression that reflects the spirit of Le Flâneur and Recess
• Manage reservations, waitlists, table assignments, and seating flow throughout service
• Escort guests to their tables and help them feel comfortable and informed
• Answer phones and assist with reservations, questions, and special requests
• Communicate closely with servers, managers, and support teams to keep the dining room flowing
• Recognize returning guests, members, VIPs, and special occasions whenever possible
• Maintain awareness of table status, reservation timing, and guest needs
• Keep the host stand and restaurant entrance organized, inviting, and guest-ready
• Help resolve minor guest concerns with confidence, warmth, and good judgment
• Support opening, closing, and other restaurant duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hotel, retail, customer service, or other guest-facing experience preferred
• Naturally friendly, social, and comfortable engaging with new people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized and able to manage several things at once during busy periods
• Confident using technology; reservation system experience is a plus
• Dependable, professional, and able to remain positive under pressure
• Comfortable standing and moving throughout the shift
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Most importantly, a genuine desire to make people feel welcome
