Job summary

Bentley Legacy is seeking a Host for Chaz on the Plaza to greet guests, seat them promptly, and assist servers with attentive service. The role includes helping the cashier with payments and ensuring menus are clean and appealing.

The Host will need strong English communication skills, be able to stand for long periods, and handle varied shifts including evenings and weekends. Training in liquor/wine service is a plus.

Qualifications

Description

The Host at Chaz on the Plaza is responsible for greeting guests as they enter the restaurant, seating them appropriately and assisting the servers in providing attentive, courteous service to guests throughout their dining experience. He/she is also responsible for assisting the cashier in the collection of payment for all guest transactions.

Responsibilities

• Approach all guests and employees with a smile.
• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Be attentive of guests' needs assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
• Assist cashier in collection of money or credit cards from guests and servers as needed.
• Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
• Know how to prepare cashier report at the end of the shift.
• Pay out servers' and service attendants' tips if appropriate.
• Ability to answer the telephone according to standards.
• Have a thorough knowledge of menus and specials in restaurant.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• English fluency required
• Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service a PLUS
• Ability to input and access information in computers.
• Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
• Willing and able to stand/walk for entire shift if needed
• Possess basic reading, writing and math skills
