Job summary

Valley River Inn in Eugene, Oregon, part of Columbia Hospitality, is seeking an experienced Front of House leader to oversee all FOH operations, from staffing and scheduling to service etiquette and guest relations.

You will collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef on menus, inventory, hiring, and budget management, while training staff and driving guest satisfaction across outlets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Wine Service certification preferred.
• Fluent reading/writing/speaking English required.
• Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook; basic POS knowledge.
• Multitasking and calmness under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly FOH schedules balancing business needs and labor costs.
• Collaborate with Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef on menus, inventory, and ordering.
• Submit payroll for FOH staff by deadline.
• Hire FOH staff for all outlets.
• Attend off-site tastings with distributors and wine makers to maintain one of the best wine lists in the state.
• Train and supervise FOH staff on service etiquette.
• Coordinate with F&B on private party planning.
• Oversee all aspects of FOH service across the restaurant.
• Manage floor flow and seating to optimize efficiency.
• Conduct yearly performance reviews for FOH staff.
• Promote cross-training to increase efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a marketing strategy to attract clientele.
• Enhance food and beverage amenities in coordination with leadership.
