Job Description

As Restaurant General Manager, you will provide vision and leadership that fosters an engaged team and ensures quality, efficiency, and superior service. This position is responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of a fast-paced, premier dining establishment.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000, based on skills & previous experience

Reporting to the Director, Food & Beverage, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
2. Ensure service excellence and efficient daily operations
3. Oversee recruitment, mentorship, and development of department leaders and staff
4. Coach employees to prioritize guest service
5. Participate in monthly forecasting and reporting
6. Maintain cleanliness, repair, and report deficiencies
7. Conduct monthly departmental meetings
8. Address guest service issues promptly and professionally
9. Analyze data and trends for improvement strategies
10. Contribute to menu development and staff training
11. Manage payroll and vacation schedules accurately
12. Maintain inventory and par stock levels
13. Implement cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures
14. Create promotions and adjust prices based on market trends
15. Promote safety and ensure adherence to health & safety standards
16. Collaborate with other Food & Beverage departments
17. Maintain confidentiality on management and staff matters
18. Support all Fairmont Hotel & Resort initiatives
19. Assist with coverage of seasonal outlets as needed
20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage or Hotel Management

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

1. Minimum five years of senior experience in Food & Beverage Management
2. Strong beverage, culinary, and wine knowledge
3. Proserve Certification
4. Post-secondary degree in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Management (asset)
5. Knowledge of Fairmont Hotels Profile Plus, Birchstreet, Watson, Avero (assets)

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist with work authorization.
