Job summary

Buehler’s Restaurant in Canton, OH, is looking for a Restaurant Cook to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment. You will operate grill and fryer equipment, help prepare meals, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are followed throughout the shift.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 80 lbs, and working a schedule that includes nights and weekends. This is a non-exempt hourly position focused on consistent teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand, reach, lift 50–80 lbs as needed.
• Follow written and oral instructions and basic math.
• Able to work in a deli/kitchen with heat, steam, noise.

Buehler’s Restaurant Cooks prepare food for our customers eating in our restaurants. A typical day for a Restaurant Cook may include:

• Operate the grill, fryers and related equipment
• Set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems
• Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep the work area clean

• Store food properly and safely, mark the date and item.

Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:

• Attained at least 18 years of age; or if age 16-17 cannot operate any equipment (slicer, buffalo chopper, etc.)
• Able to meet the requirements to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# and occasionally 80#
• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and can do simple math problems
• Able to work within our deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives…so frequently you will be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
