Job summary

Buehler's Fresh Foods in Canton, Ohio is hiring a Restaurant Cook to prepare food for breakfast, lunch and dinner in our deli/kitchen. You will operate the grill, fryers and related equipment while following established production procedures and sanitation standards.

Buehler's Restaurant Cooks prepare food for our customers eating in our restaurants. We have loyal customers that join us for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we love to make each meal a great experience for that customer. Our Food Service teammates love to prepare and serve food while following established food production programs and procedures.

A typical day for a Restaurant Cook may include:

• Operate the grill, fryers and related equipment


• Set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems


• Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep the work area clean


• Observe proper food handling techniques


• Store food properly and safely, mark the date and item.


• Assist foodservice team with any food preparation that needs completed

Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:

• Attained at least 18 years of age; or if age 16-17 cannot operate any equipment (slicer, buffalo chopper, etc.)


• Able to meet the requirements to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# and occasionally 80#


• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and can do simple math problems


• Able to work within our deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives...so frequently you will be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise

• Must be available to be scheduled 35+hrs a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs.
