Thompson Houston is now recruiting for Line Cook 2 - Intermediate. Join our hotel team as we launch a new destination restaurant concept within Thompson Houston Hotel. This position is available to start immediately and will be part of a new restaurant relaunch this summer. The 3-meal dining venue includes an expanded 1-acre pool deck serving hotel guests and residents, luxury cabanas, private event spaces, indoor-outdoor dining areas, and the best views of downtown. This restaurant is managed by Thompson Houston Hotel and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Position Overview

An intermediate line cook requires good communication and culinary skills. The ideal candidate will have hotel cooking experience and a culinary degree. An intermediate cook should have professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Handle the preparation of braised food, grilling, broiling, blanching, cooking, and sauté items.
  2. Prepare daily specials and check the quality of finished food products.
  3. Ensure efficient preparation methods and procedures daily.
  4. Receive products from the storeroom.
  5. Support the training and development of Cook 1.

  • Refined verbal communication skills.
  • 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
