Job summary

OTTO in South Portland, ME is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist the General Manager in running a busy, creative pizza restaurant. The role focuses on operations, staffing, inventory, and service standards to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Management or Culinary degree preferred but not required.
• Previous restaurant experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule – weekends and nights.
• Must provide a current ServSafe Certification or receive one within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic inspections of unit for quality of food and sanitation.
• Manage inventory, rotate stock, and track weekly/daily inventory.
• Assist with scheduling and opening/closing of the shop.
• Oversee staff, delegate roles, hiring, firing, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate training and identify training needs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation.
