Job summary

Homewatch CareGivers of San Rafael is seeking dedicated caregiving professionals to join our mission‑driven team. Lead by example, mentor new caregivers, and help families receive high‑quality home care.

You will provide hands‑on care, assist with daily activities, document care plans, participate in on‑call rotations, and support continuous quality improvements while pursuing paid certifications and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of professional caregiving experience (HHA/CNA preferred).
• First Aid & CPR certification required or willingness to obtain (employer-paid).
• Proven ability to coach peers and communicate with clients, families, and clinical staff.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license; ability to lift/transfer clients.
• Tech-savvy for documenting care notes in a mobile app.
• Compassionate, ethical, and calm under pressure in every scenario.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example: launch new cases, introduce permanent caregivers to families, and model best‑practice care techniques.
• Provide hands‑on care: assist with personal hygiene, mobility, meals, housekeeping, errands, and medication reminders.
• Ensure quality & safety: complete home‑safety assessments, conduct routine quality‑assurance visits, and update care plans.
• Train & onboard caregivers: deliver coaching, refreshers, and ongoing competency checks.
• Serve on the on‑call rotation: triage call-outs, fill urgent shifts, and resolve client concerns after hours.
• Problem‑solve in real time: address changes in client condition and escalate issues to families.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure quality & safety: complete home‑safety assessments, conduct routine quality‑assurance visits, and document plan‑of‑care updates for the Care Manager.
• Train & onboard caregivers: deliver one‑on‑one coaching, skills refreshers, and ongoing competency checks.
• Serve on the on‑call rotation: triage caregiver call‑outs, fill urgent shifts, and resolve client concerns after hours.
• Problem‑solve in real time: address changes in client condition, escalation issues, keep families informed.

What You’ll Bring

• 1+ year of professional caregiving, HHA, CNA, or home‑health experience (lead/supervisory duties a plus)
• First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain—paid by employer)
• Proven ability to coach peers and communicate effectively with clients, families, and clinical staff
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift / transfer clients as needed
