Job summary

Consumer Direct Care Network in Wisconsin seeks a compassionate respite care provider to support a young boy in Colby. This part-time role offers weekend hours in the home and in the community, with a focus on safety, fun activities, and routine.

The child communicates using an AAC device, sign language, and body language; CPR certification and prior experience with special needs children are required.

Schedule: Weekends from 1pm to 4pm (up to 8 hours per week).

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Engage with the child using his favorite activities and interests.

Respite Care Provider Needed

Are you looking for a part-time position in the Wausau area? Are you patient, attentive, and have experience working with children with special needs? If you answered yes to those questions, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for a respite care provider for a young boy in Colby, WI. This position would provide up to 8hrs per week, and is weekends only! The child in need of respite is very easy going with a big personality! He is nonverbal and utilizes an AAC device, sign language, and body language to communicate.

Schedule & Pay

• Hourly Wage: $17.66
• Respite care would be provided in your home and out in the community.
• Schedule: Weekends from 1pm-4pm (8hrs/week)

About The Child-

• Nonverbal (utilizes AAC & Sign Language to communicate)
• Outdoor play (parks, watching airplanes)
• Car rides
• Going through the car wash
• Music
• Taking photos & videos on his tablet

Responsibilities-

• Engage with the child with his favorite activities and special interests
• Personal cares (this child utilizes pullups)
• Meal prepping (as needed)
• Supervision

Requirements-

• CPR Certification
• Previous experience working with special needs children

CDCN’s role is to assist the Member or Managing Party in recruiting a Direct Care Worker. The Member or Managing Party has the sole authority to hire or dismiss any potential Direct Care Worker.
