Job summary

Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Full-time Staff for the second shift (3pm-11pm), Tuesday through Saturday, in South Hadley, MA. The role provides direct services to adults in a respite housing setting, supporting daily living activities, administering medications as needed, and fostering a therapeutic, person-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, team-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but strong relational skills can substitute.
• MAP certification or willingness to obtain MAP certification is required.
• Background screening including CORI and motor vehicle record check required; reliable vehicle for work.
• Written and verbal communication skills are critical; ability to work with computers.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to program clients living in a respite setting.
• Support clients' activities of daily living and administer medications as needed.
• Develop professional relationships and provide informal counseling with a person-centered focus.
• Facilitate daily groups (on-the-job training provided).
• Provide case management services.

Job description

The Retreat at Hampshire Woods is a short-term respite program for adults (18+) who need further stabilization for mental health and substance use. The program has 5 on-site beds and 8 mobile beds. The Retreats offers numerous services to clients both on-site and mobile, including in-house groups and case management, as well as connecting clients with outside resources. The program can tailor some aspects of programming to meet various client needs, such as recovery from substance use or mental health symptoms. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dedicated, and a team-player.

We are currently seeking Full-time Staff, second shift (3pm-11pm) Tuesday - Saturday.

YOUR ROLE AS A DIRECT CARE YOU WILL:

• Daily activities include providing direct services to program clients living in a respite setting
• Supporting clients' activities of daily living, administering medications as needed
• Develop professional and supportive relationships with clients and provide informal counseling and guidance with a person-centered focus
• Will facilitate daily groups (on the job training provided)
• Provide case management services
• Maintain a therapeutic milieu
• The ideal candidates will have a desire to work with members of our community who have mental illness

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but can be substituted for an abundance of heart and the ability to establish caring, meaningful relationships
• Written and verbal communication skills are critical as is the ability to work with computers
• All positions require a background screening including a CORI and motor vehicle record check, as well as a reliable vehicle for work use
• The candidate should be MAP certified, or willing to become MAP certified
