The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Youth Attendant/Respite Care Worker to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position will provide attendant careand/or respite careservices toyouthbeing served throughthe Center’sCBSprogram. Evenings Required (1+ days per week after 5 p); weekends Required.
1. Provide attendant care services whichassistwith promoting successful completion of daily activities
2. Encourage and support clients’ engagement in pro-social activities
3. Encourage and support clients’ efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others
4. Work respectfully and supportively with clients’ parents/caregivers, whileobserving appropriate boundaries
5. Transport clients to and from activities or appointments when necessary. Serve asTransportationAttendant on transportation routes whenrequired.
High schoolgraduateor GEDrequired.Mustbe 21 years of age or older and have sixmonthsexperience working withyouth.Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.
Preferred: Oneyear of college course work or oneyearexperience in the field of human services or a combinationof each;experience working withyouthwith mental health issues.
