Job summary

The Center for Human Development, Inc. in South Hadley, MA is seeking Relief Staff to provide direct services in a short-term respite program for adults (18+) needing stabilization for mental health and substance use.

You will support daily living, administer medications as needed, and help maintain a therapeutic milieu. You will facilitate daily groups, offer informal counseling, and perform case management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; heartfelt ability to build caring relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable with computers.
• Background screening including CORI and MVR; reliable vehicle required.
• MAP certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to clients in a respite setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living and administer medications as needed.
• Develop supportive relationships and offer informal counseling with a person-centered focus.
• Lead daily groups (on-the-job training provided).
• Provide case management and maintain a therapeutic milieu.
• Collaborate with the team to support clients with mental illness.
