St. David's Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Tech Student PRN to contribute to patient care under supervision.

You will perform noninvasive respiratory therapies and diagnostic tests, document findings, and assist in emergencies while adhering to hospital policies and infection control standards. The role includes shifts that require accurate record keeping, patient assessments, oxygen therapy management, and collaboration with the respiratory care team.

Qualificações

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Diploma or GED required

Responsabilidades

• Administers and monitors respiratory therapy treatments
• Administers therapy according to departmental policy
• Responds to emergency codes and manages airway under supervision
• Follows infection control policies
• Records pertinent information in patient medical records
• Documents respiratory care interventions during shifts
• Enters charges per shift for services performed
• Delivers shift reports to oncoming staff
• Performs noninvasive diagnostic tests
• Performs bedside spirometry and records results
• Performs peak flow, inspiratory/expiratory force and vital capacity measurements
• Monitors pulse oximetry
• Performs ECGs as ordered
• Administers and monitors continuous oxygen therapy
• Sets up new oxygen starts within 20 minutes of notification
• Monitors all oxygen therapy equipment
• Performs cleaning, preventive maintenance and calibration of respiratory therapy equipment
