Job summary

Medical City Alliance seeks a Supervisor - Respiratory Therapy to lead Respiratory Care Practitioners and influence patient care decisions through collaboration with department leadership and participation in hospital initiatives. The role may act as interim manager during the absence of the department director and manager.

The supervisor will direct daily RCP activities, manage shift assignments, provide orientation, and ensure timely supplies, while overseeing staff performance and compliance

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care preferred or actively pursuing degree.
• Healthcare/Business Administration or Life Science degree or actively pursuing degree.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of RCPs and students.
• Participates in department PI activities.
• Provides orientation & education to dept & hospital personnel.
• Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential work function.
• Taking call for the department and working shifts as needed for call-in or open shifts which includes day and night shifts.
• Counseling employees if needed.
• Completes the staffing schedule and is responsible for filling open shifts.
• Directs shift huddles.
• Ensures supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
• Assist the department Director as needed.

Education

Associates degree in Respiratory Care

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care preferred

Healthcare/Business Administration or Life Science degree pursuing
