St. Davids Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Student for a PRN position within HCA Healthcare.

Under the supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, you will administer noninvasive therapies and perform diagnostic tests, documenting results and communicating with the supervising therapist. Qualified candidates are enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program and must have a High School Diploma along with BLS within 30 days of start.

Formación

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

Responsabilidades

• Administers and monitors respiratory therapy treatments.
• Administers therapy according to established policy (High Risk/High Volume).
• Responds to emergency codes and manages airway under supervision of a licensed RCP.
• Follows hospital and departmental infection control policies.
• Records pertinent information on patient medical records.
• Documents respiratory care interventions during assigned shift (High Risk/High Volume).
• Maintains up-to-date departmental records.
• Enters charges per shift for service performed.
• Gives knowledgeable shift reports to oncoming shift.
• Performs noninvasive diagnostic tests.
• Performs bedside spirometry and records results.
• Performs peak flow, inspiratory/expiratory force and vital capacity measurements.
• Monitors pulse oximetry.
• Performs ECGs as ordered policy (High Risk/Low Volume).
• Administers and monitors continuous oxygen therapy.
• Sets up oxygen starts within 20 minutes of notification policy (High Risk/High Volume).
• Monitors all continuous oxygen therapy in absence of equipment technician.
• Performs cleaning, preventive maintenance and calibration of Respiratory Therapy equipment.
