MaineHealth's Maine Medical Center is offering a Student - Respiratory Therapy role for students enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program. You will work in a clinical setting under the supervision of licensed respiratory therapists and gain hands-on experience supporting patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with treatments, patient assessments, monitoring responses, and learning proper use of respiratory equipment.

Competenze

• Education: Active enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: Three to five hundred clinical hours as a student preferred.

Are you currently enrolled in Respiratory Therapy program and interested in gaining hands on experience?

Hands on Experience:

• Work in a clinical setting under the supervision of experienced respiratory therapists.

Skills Development / Clinical Training:

• Build confidence in Patient assessment, treatment administration and communication with both patients and healthcare teams
• Work with patients, assist with treatments, monitor patient responses, and learn how to properly utilize respiratory equipment.
• Preparation for Licensure - Clinical experience is pivotal in meeting the requirements for respiratory therapist licensure and certification.

Summary:

The Student - Respiratory Therapy role assists with non-clinical departmental operations that support the delivery of respiratory care services while actively enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy educational program. Under the direct supervision of Respiratory Care leadership and licensed Respiratory Therapists, this role promotes professional development and supports progression into future respiratory therapy training and clinical roles.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Active enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program required.
2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: Three to five hundred clinical hours as a student preferred.

The pay range for this position is $18.73to $21.92 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
