Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Master Trainer to develop and continually improve a training program based on TWI and JI methods. You will train staff and leaders, track competency, and lead a team of educators to elevate respiratory care education across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
• 5+ years experience in critical care or leadership.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business or health profession.

Responsibilities

• Develops and continually improves Respiratory Therapy training programs applying TWI, JI, and Lean principles.
• Establishes and documents opportunities for Respiratory Therapy training and process improvement.
• Performs train the trainer education to Respiratory Therapy management and leadership.
• Participates in the improvement process with stakeholders and Respiratory Therapy leaders.
• Sets criteria and evaluates manager’s performance on training staff and using the TWI/JI methods established.
• Establishes a system for leadership development with stakeholders and Respiratory Therapy leaders.
• Serves as a resource and technical expert to Respiratory Therapy staff, physicians, and other health care personnel.
• Oversees orientation, student management, and other health system training(s), as needed.
