Newman University in Wichita, Kansas seeks a qualified Respiratory Care Instructor to teach, evaluate, and mentor students across didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings.

You will collaborate with the Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, and Medical Director to plan, assess, and improve the Respiratory Care program, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and university goals. The position requires Kansas licensure, an RRT credential, and ongoing professional involvement.

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Licensed in the State of Kansas.
• Bachelor’s degree desired.
• Recognized qualifications, by training and experience, in the management of respiratory diseases and in respiratory therapy procedures are required.
• Previous clinical experience in the respiratory care profession is required.
• Previous teaching experience is desired.
• Member of representative professional organizations.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Instructors shall provide instruction and evaluation of students, as assigned.
• Instructors shall participate in program planning and evaluation of instruction for all aspects of respiratory therapy in cooperation and collaboration with the Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, and Medical Director.
• In consultation with the Program Director, instructors shall: Provide student advising in courses taught by the instructor; Provide didactic, laboratory and clinical course content, as assigned, to meet student, university and professional needs.
• Advise Program Director and the Director of Clinical Education regarding direction and operation of the program.
• Assist program in seeking support for program update, expansion, or other changes needed to better meet student, university, professional, credentialing, and accreditation standards and requirements.
• Abide by Faculty Responsibilities as outlined in the Newman University Faculty Manual.
