Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Manager/Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to lead the respiratory care team in a critical illness recovery setting. The role involves consultation on pulmonary disorders, ensuring high-quality respiratory care, and ongoing staff development.

You will collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure regulatory compliance and develop site-specific protocols, with opportunities for career growth and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current State License.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• BLS certification by start date.
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the respiratory therapy department.
• Provide consultation on pulmonary disorders and respiratory therapy practice.
• Develop and monitor departmental standards and regulatory compliance.
• Lead staff recruitment, orientation, evaluations and development.
• Coordinate with physicians and Wean Team to manage patient weaning from ventilation.
• Maintain competency in rapid response and code events.
