Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide expert care across adult, geriatric, and neonatal populations. You will perform advanced respiratory procedures, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with NBRC and AARC guidelines.

The role requires an AA.S. degree in respiratory care, 5 years of critical care experience, and licensure with the Texas Medical Board along with NBRC certification. BLS and NRP are required within 90 days, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • AA.S. degree in respiratory care from an accredited program.
  • 5 years of critical care experience as an RRT.
  • Texas Medical Board license and NBRC certification required on hire; BLS and NRP certifications within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and manage unit staffing to meet patient needs.
  • Perform daily patient rounds and chart audits.
  • Ensure NBRC, AARC guidelines, and safety standards are followed.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to staff and coordinate with leadership.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure safe, effective patient care.
