Job summary

Accendra Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Boston Metro area role. The position combines on-site work with field visits, performing oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups.

You’ll educate patients and caregivers, document care, and assist with hospital discharge coordination. Ideal candidates hold an MA RT license with CPR certification and a graduate degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• MA RT license and CPR certification.
• Strong patient education and clinical assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use and maintenance.
• Document care delivered and escalate concerns as needed.

The team is highly experienced, with leadership bringing over 20 years of home-care expertise.Key highlightsWork Arrangement: On-site, 50% in the office and 50% on the road.Hours: Standard 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; with flexible scheduling (4/10s).Travel: Boston Metro area; variable traffic; flexible start/end times and ability to leave from home.Salary range$45 – $55 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.$5,000 Recruitment & Retention bonus.On-Call transparencyRotation every 3rd week with minimal call volume.What you’ll doConduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑upsEducate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenanceAssess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriatelyRespond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needsCollaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teamsMaintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptopSet up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilationInspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating conditionPerform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signsPerforms other duties as requiredWhat we look forRespiratory Therapist with an active MA RT licenseAbility to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.Valid driver's licenseComfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentationEducationGraduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy programCertificates, licenses, registrations or professional designationsHold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapyHold a current CPR CertificationHold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practiceIf you feel this opportunity could be the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.Teammate BenefitsAs an Accendra Health employee, you have choices to fit your life.
