Job summary

Accendra Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our on-site care team. You will perform home visits, set up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment, educate patients and caregivers, and document care delivered.

You will collaborate with physicians and case managers, maintain accurate records on an iPad or laptop, and participate in on-call rotation while enjoying a stable daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active MA RT license.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and pull objects 10–50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On‑site
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Coverage area extends up to approximately 1 hour in most directions
• Mix of patient education, equipment management, and respiratory care services

Salary range

• $32 – $35 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location

On‑Call transparency

• On‑call rotation includes approximately 7–8 days per month, including weekends

What You’ll Do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non‑invasive ventilation
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
• Perform other duties as required

What We Look For

• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active MA RT license.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
• Hold a current CPR Certification
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
