Job summary

Pscfl is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform prescribed modalities across MedSurg and ICU settings. You'll assess clinical status, document changes, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient care.

You will educate patients and families, ensure safe handoffs via SBAR, participate in rounds, and contribute to Lean initiatives for higher quality, cost-effective care. Expect on-site duties with emergency responsiveness as needed.

Qualifications

• RRT license issued by the state of Florida (NBRC board) and active credentials.
• CPR/BLS with ACLS, PALS within specified hire windows; NRP completion.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and document findings (pre/post therapy) accurately.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and medications.
• Handoff using SBAR at shift changes and patient reassignments.
• Participate in rounds; discuss new and follow-up cases with MDs.
• Lead lean initiatives to improve care quality and efficiency.
• Provide ventilator care for conventional and home ventilators.
• Respond to emergencies as a backup for codes; ensure equipment readiness.
• Perform gas analyses and QA on equipment; report malfunctions.
• Maintain infection control standards and PPE as per policy.
