Job summary

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is seeking team members to advance our vision and serve the community with high-quality respiratory care. We are hiring a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) on a Full Time basis, under the Cardiopulmonary Director.

The role covers assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care for all age groups. Requirements include a high school diploma, AMA-approved respiratory school graduate, and current CRT or RRT licensure with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory School.
• Current license as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Certified Eligible Therapist.
• Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible Therapist.
• Current CPR Certification (Infant, Child and Adult).

Responsibilities

• Administration of respiratory medications.
• Oxygen therapy.
• Arterial Blood Gases.
• Electrocardiogram.
• Ventilator management.
• Pulmonary Function Study.
• Airway management.
• Chest Physiotherapy.
• Troubleshooting equipment.
• Proper chart documentation.
• Patient Education.
• Patient Confidentiality.
• Care plan of patient.
• Cleaning of equipment.
• Hospital policies & procedures.
• Department policies & procedures.
• Adhere to standards of performance.
• Age specific competencies.
• Annual in-service.
