Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide pulmonary care for critical and chronically ill patients under physician supervision. Responsibilities include patient assessments, ventilator management, and delivering therapies in a hospital setting.

The role requires NBRC RRT certification, BLS, and state license, with 1–3 years of experience preferred. Multiple shifts are available; part-time work may be offered in a hospital department.

Qualifications

• See licensure and/or certification requirements.
• Experience: 1–3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Response to emergencies (Code Blue/White) as part of the care team.
• Manage airway devices and perform suctioning as needed.
• Deliver aerosolized medications and monitor patient response.
• Operate and setup ventilators; monitor respiratory status.
• Perform oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring.
• Collect and analyze blood gases; interpret results.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
• Assist in CAP and JC surveys as required.
• Provide shift leadership as needed and support team.
