Job summary

Nashua Post Acute and Healthcare Center is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide skilled assessment, treatment, and education for residents with complex pulmonary needs. This full-time role involves collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize respiratory care in a 292-bed skilled nursing and long-term care setting.

Applicants must hold an RRT credential, current NH licensure, and bring 3+ years of experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management.

Qualifications

• RRT credential from NBRC required.
• Current state licensure required.
• 3+ years respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and vent management in SNF/LTACH/hospital required.
• Strong communication with residents, families and clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and exams.
• Consult with physicians and team to develop/modify treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing including lung capacity and ABG evaluation.
• Administer therapies (oxygen, aerosols, chest physiotherapy).
• Manage ventilator-dependent residents and initiate ventilator support when necessary.
• Monitor respiratory status and equipment functionality.
• Educate residents and families on treatments, equipment and medications.
• Document treatments and resident progress in line with standards.
