Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Memorial Lufkin, a 279-bed facility and member of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to deliver specialized care for breathing difficulties, including nebulizer and ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

You will apply assessment and critical thinking to develop care plans, manage routine and emergent situations, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• TX Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist certification required.
• BLS CPR required within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and documents all respiratory activity to ensure quality care.
• Cleans and assembles equipment and maintains supply stock for patient care.
• Educates patients and families on therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains lifesaving skills for all ages and current licensure.
• Collaborates with the care team to provide timely and effective patient care.
• Completes continuing education and maintains ongoing licensure.
