Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, plan and provide respiratory care in critical and non-critical areas. You will set up ventilatory support, administer medications and document outcomes as part of multidisciplinary care teams.

Typical shifts are 12 hours, 7p-7a, with responsibilities that include arterial blood gas sampling, bronchoscopy assistance and collaboration with physicians to optimize therapy for both adults and children.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 months clinical experience, either concurrent with training or post-graduation.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Pennsylvania and NBRC credentials.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and rotate as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and determine need for respiratory care per physician order.
• Provide therapy and ventilator support in designated units, including critical care and non-critical areas.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilatory support and administer respiratory medications.
• Document assessments, therapies and outcomes in medical records; participate in Rapid Response and Code Blue teams.
• Assist with bronchoscopy, fluoroscopy and bedside procedures as trained.
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and analyze specimens; educate and collaborate with physicians on therapy decisions.
