Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide age-specific care using oxygen and inhalation therapies. You will prepare patient charts, maintain and test equipment, and assist with procedures and bronchoscopy as needed.

Must hold an active RCP/CRT/RRT license and BLS/CPR; ACLS/PALS/NRP within 6 months. You will work with a team of physicians and nurses to deliver safe, effective care and educate patients and families on therapies.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as RCP/CRT/RRT is required.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate devices such as ventilators and aerosol generators following prescribed treatment parameters.
• Provide emergency care including artificial respiration and CPR.
• Monitor vital signs, ABGs and patient response; consult physicians as needed.
• Read prescriptions, review patient data and determine therapy requirements.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, disease management and equipment usage.
• Maintain and test respiratory therapy equipment for safe operation.
