Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center, part of Methodist Health System, seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care for adults and neonates. You will manage ventilator support, oxygen therapy and bronchial hygiene under supervision, with duties spanning ABG, PFTs and patient assessments.

Requirements include licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas, NBRC registration, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics: oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluation including bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient information.
• Maintains and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
