Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide specialized care for adult and neonatal patients. You will perform ABG, PFTs, and various ventilator support therapies, oxygen and aerosol treatments, and airway maintenance under supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NRP/PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Texas license in good standing as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• NBRC registration.
• Minimum 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapies: oxygen, humidification, aerosols, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, chest physiotherapy, CPR, and ventilation.
• Conducts and reports ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessment, patient interview, and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assembles and troubleshoots CP equipment: ventilators, airways, analyzers, delivery devices.
• Participates in infection control, safety and QA.
• Cleans and maintains CP equipment and work areas.
• Uses scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Current Basic Life Support certification

Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification

NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire

Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (Texas)

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care

At least 6 months respiratory care experience
