Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to perform ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates.

Under indirect supervision, you will care for patients of all ages, maintain equipment, perform cardio-pulmonary tests, and participate in infection control and quality assurance. Texas license, NBRC registration, BLS/ACLS required; NRP within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support— must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, and chest physiotherapy.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures (ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECG).
• Prepares treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and medical record review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Operates, checks, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, etc.).
• Supports infection control, safety, and quality assurance.
