Job summary

Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Supervisor 2 for the per diem night shift. The role oversees daily staff operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and participates in educational activities and program rotations.

Qualified candidates will hold NY state licensure, with 3 years post-licensure experience in respiratory services, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity. A BS in respiratory therapy may substitute for one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Possession of a license and current registration as a respiratory therapist in New York State.
• Three years of post-licensure experience in the administration of respiratory services and treatment of patients in a nursing home facility or hospital setting.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy may substitute for one year of the general experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day-to-day operation of staff and the delivery of all clinical services.
• Assists with inservice education of department staff and other institutional personnel.
• Ensures compliance with state, Federal, CARF and JCAHO regulations and quality assurance programs in the department.
• Participates on committees and with the respiratory program clinical rotation.
• Provides direct patient care and shares on-call for the department, and other duties as required.
