Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to oversee daily staff operations and ensure delivery of all clinical services. The role includes participating in in-service education, regulatory and quality assurance activities, committee work, and on-call direct patient care as required.

• Must hold a license and current NY State registration as a respiratory therapist.
• Three years post-licensure experience in administration of respiratory services.
• One year of supervisory experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy may substitute for one year of general experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with inservice education of department staff and other institutional personnel.
• Assists with all state, Federal, CARF and JCAHO regulations and quality assurance programs in the department and ensures compliance.

Requirements

Possession of alicense and current registration as a respiratory therapist in New York State,and three years of post-licensure experience in the administration ofrespiratory services and treatment of patients in a nursing home facility orhospital setting, one year of which must have been at a supervisory level. Abachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy may substitute for one year of thegeneral experience requirement.
