Job summary

Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient care including ventilation support, airway management, emergency response, pulmonary function testing and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation. You will work with physicians and staff to ensure safe delivery of respiratory therapy and contribute to infection control and isolation procedures.

This night shift position runs 7:00pm–7:15am with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and registered as a Respiratory Therapist by New York State.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including continuous ventilation and airway maintenance.
• Assist with emergency care and pulmonary function testing.
• Support cardiorespiratory rehabilitation and infection control.
• Follow isolation procedures and administer cardiorespiratory drugs as needed.
• Serve as a resource to physicians and hospital staff on respiratory care.
