West Gables Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care within a 77-bed sub-acute and long-term care setting. The role supports residents with complex pulmonary needs under Marquis Health Consulting Services.

The position offers a PRN opportunity with daily pay and a compensation range of $37–$42 per hour, all-inclusive. A dedicated care team and patient-centered culture guide daily practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• Current state licensure is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in skilled settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and exams.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams on treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic tests including lung function and ABG evaluation.
• Administer therapies such as oxygen and chest therapies.
• Monitor ventilator-dependent residents and adjust care as needed.
• Document treatments and resident progress per standards.

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Respiratory Therapist provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents requiring respiratory support across the care continuum.

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
